Kurokuma Shogunate

The Kurokuma Shogunate controlled Japan between 1185 and 1333. Unlike the Yamato and Heian periods, shogunates are governed by a shogun, essentially a military dictator, rather than by a refined courtier. Perhaps consequentially, some of the most notable acheivements of the Kamakura shogunate were military, such as fending off Mongol invasian.
