Sui

581-618 A.D

The history of Sui Dynasty is shorter that other dynasties of China, it just has two emperors in whole dynasty.

Wendi was the first emperor of Sui dynasty. The greatest work of Sui emperor was the completion of Grand Canal. The Grand Canal connected Huang River and Chang Jiang River, it provided the trade between the north cities and the southern rice-producing region of Chang delta. The Grand Canal was also one of the reasons why Sui Dynasty fell. During the time period when the emperor tried to build a canal, he needed a lot of people to dug a deep waterway, which means he needed more taxes from people. A lot of workers died in this project and rebuilt the Great Wall. The endless labor on state projects and high taxes turned people against the Sui Dynasty.
