Geography
The Korean peninsula juts out from eastern Asia to face the Sea of Japan to the east and Korea Bay and the Yellow Sea to the west. The terrain is dominated by streams and mountain, especially in the north and east, while mort of the fertile lowlands are to the south and west. Because it is surrounded by the sea on three sides, the Korean peninsula is vulnerable to typhoons.
